George Jacob Ead, 68, of Methuen, passed away on Sunday, 7 June 2026, after an admirable six-year fight against cancer. He departed to join his brother Mark, and parents Rose and Fred, who preceded him in death and welcomed him to the next life in the care of their Heavenly Father.

Born in Lawrence, MA, and raised on Hampshire Street, young 'Georgie' was a talented ballplayer and wrestler with a neighborhood full of childhood friends. After graduating from Central Catholic HS and earning a chemical engineering degree from UMass Lowell, George moved to Los Angeles, where he lived some of his most cherished years, enjoying a young career, camping, and traveling the West Coast with his best friend Tarek.

He returned to Lawrence to raise a family with his wife, Hannah, and worked hard to provide a good life for their children. He built a tax business and put his heart into helping his clients, whom he deeply cared for and who are sure to miss his humor and the comfort of his support with tax matters.

George made time to coach his children in youth sports and generously opened his home to their childhood friends, whom he also loved and laughed with as his own. Countless bonds, memories, and lifelong friendships were formed over gatherings at his Methuen home.

He remained physically and intellectually active throughout his illness, and loved swimming, repairing his Lexus, and studying the history of electronics, until the very end.

George is survived by his wife Hannah, who lovingly cared for him at home through his final day; his son Johnny & his wife Dea; daughter Jessica & husband Sobhan; son Ronny & wife Alexis; and seven grandchildren, whom he loved, and who shared that same love for their Jiddou, bringing him life, light, and laughs during his toughest days of illness. He also leaves behind his sister Marian and brother Charles Ead, and his sister Pamela and her husband Jim, along with their children, Tyson and Lauren Pulsifer.
